Join Village Santa Cruz for a live webcast conversation about community and choice in aging with renowned surgeon and author Atul Gawande.  More than 150 villages across the country will be participating via simulcast for an afternoon with Being Mortal’s author as we celebrate the village that started a movement.

Atul Gawande, MD, MPH, author of the seminal book, Being Mortal, which is "a personal meditation on how we can better live with age-related frailty, serious illness and approaching death. It is also a call for a change in the philosophy of health care. Gawande writes that members of the medical profession, himself included, have been wrong about what their job is. Rather than ensuring health and survival, it is to enable well-being."
~~ New York Times, 11/6/14, Sheri Fink.

This is a chance to start a conversation within our larger Santa Cruz County community on how we want to approach and move through the last third of our lives.

The watch party will take place Monday. Sept. 25, 2017 from 1:30 – 3:30 PM.
